Fitted Interiors Level 2

This is a recognised qualification delivered by Torfaen Training. It is available to learners with little or no experience.

Study Areas

The first 3 units will help you develop an understanding of the health and safety rules and regulations relating to the work place. These will include;

Unit VR01 : Conform to workplace safety
This unit is all about safe working

Unit VR02 : Conform to efficient work practices
This unit is all about communication and procedures.

VR03 : Move and handle resources
This is all about handling and moving resources efficiently and safely

You will then complete 2 practical units

VR121 : Install fitted furniture
This involves learning to fit mainly in kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms.

VR122 Install basic plumbing
This is about the installation of basic plumbing mainly in kitchens bathroom and bedrooms

These units involve learning how to read and understand plans, drawings and other paperwork to do with the task. You will learn how to choose the appropriate materials and tools and how to manage your time to complete the job.

Method of Study

Much of the work is practical but there is theory and project work involved.


This will be done by observation and application of skills you have learned. You will build a portfolio of evidence of learning. This will include some verbal and written evidence together with photographic evidence in the workplace.

Additional information

The course involves working in an adult environment and this means that there are strict rules in place regarding health and safety and behaviour. For example, although there is no formal kit needed, learners are expected to wear protective. There is an entry process and interview for those interested in the course.
