Payments for Trips and Visits

Croesyceiliog Comprehensive School has moved towards a cashless system, in line with other schools in Torfaen. We are hoping that everyone will benefit from our new payment facility. It is easy-to-use and offers you the freedom to make online payments whenever and wherever you like, 24/7 – safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available and those funds will reach the school safely.

Trips and visits, be they single afternoon visits to a local historical monument, sports fixtures, or multi-day excursions abroad, are a key part of educational provision at Croesyceiliog. We try to ensure that a full range of opportunities are available through the key stages, and we aim to give parents as much advance warning as possible. Obviously time spent away from the classroom has to be considered carefully, and all trip proposals are assessed initially to make sure that the experience they offer is significant. Trips and visits within school are run according to the Trips and Visits Policy of Torfaen County Borough Council and we use their approved, comprehensive trip planning software, ‘Evolve’. This package ensures that all documentation regarding trips, including insurance and health and safety statements are collated and stored centrally.

Where trips are over-subscribed, we run a ballot system to make sure that all pupils have a fair chance of taking part. Clearly good, responsible behaviour by pupils is as important on schools trips as it is in the classroom, and we expect pupils to respond to these demands. Pupils whose behaviour in school causes concern on a regular basis, may not be able to take part.

As a school, we regularly run repeat trips to institutions and locations year in year out, and we are proud of the fact that our pupils are invariably praised for the high standards of behaviour, respect and courtesy they exhibit.
