Good News Fortnightly Fridays
Welcome to another Good News Fortnightly Friday, and what a fortnight it’s been!
Firstly, I’d like to thank all parents, guardians and pupils for their continuous support in contributing their memories and good words to our staff here at Croesy. I am delivering all your messages to the staff, and seeing their reactions to your kind messages is priceless.
A huge congratulations to all 15 members of staff that ran the Cardiff Half Marathon, a huge accomplishment! A special thank you to all those who supported us and donated. The money we raised contributed to a whopping £35,000 raised for Big Moose for this event. In addition to this our staff held a coffee afternoon last week which raised £140 for Macmillan.
I’m extremely proud and excited to announce that we have a newly elected Student Leadership team. Incorporating our values, “Learning, Respect, Ambition” into everything we do here at Croesy, we enabled our students to learn about the importance of democracy by voting for their chosen pupils, respecting each other’s different views and opinions and ambition, to become a crucial and integral role in Croesyceiliog School.
One of the Student Leaderships team’s first active roles is to contribute in organising prom! That’s right, this year, for the first time in a long time Croesy will be organising prom for our amazing pupils. More on this in November!
Finally, I would like to say how happy I am that Croesy’s facilities are now open to the public. We have already had booking for Brownies, Scouts, Cricket and Rugby teams with more requests coming through! I’m so pleased that in a post Covid world, Croesy is finally able to give back to the community!
