2014 GCSE Results

Congratulations to all of our Year 11 leavers and their teachers for another strong GCSE performance this year. Overall 76% of pupils have currently achieved 5 or more GCSE's at grades A* to C (which we expect to rise to at least 80% when the Essential Skills Wales results are added) and 58% of pupils achieved 5 or more GCSE's at grades A* to C including English and Maths. At grades A* to C our pupils did particularly well in English (71%) and Science (94%) again this year and we are delighted with the proportion of pupils who achieved the highest A*/A grades in a number of subjects including record highs in English (18%) and Science (25%). Beyond the headline figures there are many examples of significant personal achievements at all levels, with most pupils achieving or exceeding their personal targets. We are proud of the performance of the 'Class of 2014' and are particularly pleased for Sam Cadwell, Elysia Sandhu, Lloyd Schanzer, Louise Bartle and Eleanor Lamrick who all achieved A*A grades in all their subjects, which is a remarkable achievement.
