Inclusion & ALN
Accessible learning for all.
Croesyceiliog School prides itself on being a fully inclusive community for pupils of all abilities, challenges, race, gender and social origin. A measure of the school’s success will be its’ ability to meet a wide variety of learning needs. It is the responsibility of all teachers and staff within a mainstream school to make learning and the environment as accessible as possible for all pupils and to offer a universal provision. The school recognises that many pupils will experience a time in their learning journey where they will need short term targeted support. A small number of pupils will require provision which is additional or different to our universal and targeted provisions. This specialised support will be more bespoke to the pupil.
Universal Provision
Provision that readily accessible to all pupils. It will be seen in every classroom and within the day to day experiences of all pupils.
Targeted Support
Provision put in place when pupils are identified as needing additional support beyond the basic classroom environment in order to bridge gaps and make progress. Often short-term.
Specialised Support
Provision that is necessary when pupils accessing targeted support are in need of more specialist support / advice / higher in frequency, intensity and duration than targeted support.
