Wellbeing
Pupils Wellbeing through support and resilience.
At Croesyceiliog, we prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our pupils in a culture of ‘Wellbeing for all’. Every pupil is unique and has their own challenges and experiences. At our school we develop resilience and independence to allow pupils to take responsibility for their own wellbeing, but alongside have a fantastic team of staff who offer additional support.
Every member of our staff is part of the wider wellbeing team and offers encouragement and support every day. We do however, have a dedicated Wellbeing Team who work closely with pupils to ensure that they feel supported and are able to be ready to learn.

Alongside our internal support systems, we work extensively with outside agencies to provide pupils with bespoke interventions that suit their individual needs.
SPACE-Wellbeing is a multi-agency process to co-ordinate help, including both early intervention and specialist provision, for children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. The process brings together professionals from different agencies who support children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing, in order to help children and their families to get the right help, first time.

Our Wellbeing curriculum provides the statutory provision of RVE and RSE and offers pupils the opportunity to explore a range of topical issues, providing pupil experiences that are relatable, valuable and authentic.
-
Our curriculum is designed around our pupils and extensive data is used to inform our curriculum and our provisions. We use termly pupil wellbeing surveys, SHRN Data (School Health Research Network) and wider wellbeing data to inform themes and areas of priority which feed into our curriculum, assemblies, weekly themes and thoughts for the day as well as individual, small group, year group and whole school provisions.
-
Our Health and wellbeing curriculum is further supported through an effective form time programme of activities which involve daily acts of collective worship (Thoughts for the day/week), wellbeing time, good news Fridays and current events.
-
Pupils are encouraged to appreciate diversity and equality through thematic approaches throughout the academic year. Our pupils receive valuable opportunities to further their moral, cultural and spiritual development both in the classroom and as part of our extra-curricular offer.
-
Pupils are encouraged to be ethically informed citizens through an informed programme of study throughout their Health and Wellbeing Curriculum allowing them to contribute positively both within school and their wider communities.
-
Lessons cover hard-hitting topics designed to meet the specific needs of pupils in Croesyceiliog through equipping them with the tools they need to respond to issues they may face both in their daily and future lives.
