Parent Support
Links to our school Communication Systems
At Croesyceiliog School, we believe that an excellent education is often the result of an effective partnership between schools and parents. We communicate with parents through a number of school communication systems that are linked below to support effective and timely information sharing.

School Gateway
All school communication will be sent via the School Gateway App. This App will allow you to:
-
See and amend yours/your child’s details
-
View your child’s reports/progress checks. These will be stored on the app for you to view at any time
-
See your child’s timetable
-
Receive attendance notifications and send reasons for absence to the attendance officer.
Financial information for parents and carers
This section of the page provides financial information and useful finance related links for parents and carers
The school payment system, Civica Pay, is used at our school. The benefits of this system are:
-
You will be able to pay securely using any mobile device, laptop, or PC for all activities your child undertakes in school.
-
You will be able to see a dashboard for your child which shows information such as their school meal catering balance, lists of booked school trips and more.
-
You will be able to see your child’s school meal account which includes information such as balances, payments, and meals purchased history.
-
You will be able to set up an auto top-up for school meals, so your catering balance always stays in credit.
Please click below to the Civica Pay Education payment portal for parents/carers to log in:
If you still do not have an account set up for your child please contact via email to our school finance office to request a registration letter and key code.
If you have forgotten your password or have an issue with online payments please contact Torfaen County Borough Council
If your child is in receipt of free school meals the daily allowance of £2.60 will be automatically added to your child’s account. Pupils are able to spend over this amount, should they wish to, but this will need to be topped up at home using their Civica Pay account.

The school organises a number of trips and visits over the course of the school year. Some of these trips support the curriculum and others support the pupils' personal and social development.
In recent years the school has organised the following trips and visits:
• Alps Ski Trip
• New York
• Rome
• Oxford University SEREN visit
• PGL Llwyn Filly
• Hay Festival
Trips and visits, be they single afternoon visits to a local historical monument, sports fixtures, or multi-day excursions abroad, are a key part of educational provision at Croesyceiliog. We try to ensure that a full range of opportunities are available through the key stages, and we aim to give parents as much advance warning as possible. Time spent away from the classroom has to be considered carefully, and all trip proposals are assessed individually.
School trips and visits are run according to the Trips and Visits Policy of Torfaen County Borough Council and we use their approved, comprehensive trip planning software, ‘Evolve’. This package ensures that all documentation regarding trips, including insurance and health and safety statements are collated and stored securely.
In the event of a trip being over-subscribed, we run a ballot system to make sure that all interested pupils have a fair chance of taking part. Responsible behaviour by pupils is as important on school trips as it is in the classroom. Pupils whose behaviour in school causes concern on a regular basis, may not be able to take part.
If your child is attending a school trip, you can make payment via Civica Pay:
It is the parents/carers responsibility to ensure that payments are made accurately and on time.
Parents of pupils with identified medical needs are invited to complete our parent led healthcare planning meeting request form. We also ask you to send a follow up email to your child’s year group email address to inform us that you have completed the form.
