Croesyceiliog School is proud to share the findings of its recent Estyn inspection, carried out in September 2025. The report reflects the school’s strong sense of community and commitment to providing high-quality education and wellbeing support for all pupils. Please see my vlog here that celebrates our Estyn inspection report.
Estyn highlights Croesyceiliog as a “welcoming and supportive school where pupils and staff are proud to belong”. The report recognises the steps the school has taken to strengthen capacity for pupil wellbeing, its inclusive ethos and the wide range of opportunities that help pupils thrive both academically and personally.
Key strengths include:
Effective provision for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), supported by clear referral routes, tailored interventions and innovative use of digital One Page Profiles. Estyn spotlighted this approach as an example of good practice that helps staff understand and support pupils effectively.
A culture of strong, positive relationships between staff and pupils, which underpins consistently good behaviour and positive attitudes to learning across the school.
A clear and shared vision for the curriculum, enriched by extra-curricular activities and creative experiences.
Strong pastoral care and safeguarding systems.
Improvements in literacy provision and attendance, particularly among pupils eligible for free school meals.
Natalie Richards, Headteacher said: “We are delighted that the report recognises the progress we have made and the strong sense of belonging within our school community. This is a celebration of the hard work and dedication of our staff, pupils, governors and families. Our inclusive approach and commitment to supporting every learner is something we are very proud of.”
Estyn has invited Croesyceiliog School to prepare a case study on its collaborative approach to improving pupils’ behaviour and attitudes to learning through strong, positive relationships.
Kind Regards
Ms N Richards
