GCSE Results Day 2026

Croesyceiliog School is celebrating another year of excellent GCSE results, with Year 11 and 10 pupils achieving outstanding outcomes and continuing a strong upward trend in attainment.

Outcomes improved across a range of key performance measures and demonstrate sustained three-year trajectory of improvement. 

The results also demonstrate a substantial increase in the number of pupils achieving the highest grades. The proportion of students securing 5 A*/A grades has doubled over the past 3 years.

Particular recognition goes to the school's highest achievers, with 23 pupils attaining nine or more A/A* grades, while an exceptional 7 pupils achieved 13 A*/A grades: Jessica Thompson, George Tavener, Renee Wang, Mia Worsfold, Austin Bolton, Megan Fowler and Oliver Griffiths. Further congratulations go to the following pupils who achieved more than 12 A*/A grades: Oliver Davies, Immi Evans, Jasmine Gibbins, Scott Keepin and Amelia Rosser.

Headteacher, Ms N Richards commented: "These excellent results are testament to the dedication of our talented team here at Croesyceiliog school and the ambitious attitudes to learning of our pupils. I’m so proud today of everything thy have achieved and wish them the very best for their next chapters".

Mr A Davies, acting Headteacher from September, commented: "We are incredibly proud of our pupils and the exceptional results they have achieved this year. These outcomes reflect not only the hard work and resilience of our young people but also the dedication of our staff and the support provided by families throughout their educational journey. We are particularly pleased to see such a significant increase in the number of pupils attaining the very highest grades while continuing to raise standards across the whole cohort."

These results highlight the school's continued focus on raising achievement for all learners and providing opportunities for pupils to excel academically through excellent teaching and learning being a daily feature at Croesyceiliog. As pupils prepare to move on to sixth form, college, apprenticeships and further study, the school congratulates them on their success and wishes them every success in the next stage of their education.
